Project Description
FR Contractors and Investors completed an interior painting project in an unfinished basement room in Monkton, MD. The 240-square-foot space had rough, unsanded spackle that needed extensive sanding and repairs before painting. Over three working days, we sanded the walls and ceilings, repaired bubbling drywall tape, applied primer, and finished with two coats of paint on all surfaces. The project turned a previously rough and unfinished basement space into a smooth, freshly painted area.
Background/Story:
This homeowner has relied on our services multiple times, first hiring us to paint the main living areas when they moved in. Over time, they returned for additional projects, including painting shutters and kids’ bedrooms. This time, they wanted their basement room completed to match the rest of their home.
The previous contractor left the spackle in poor condition, making it challenging to achieve a smooth finish. To keep costs down, the homeowner opted to avoid an additional skim coat, so we used a planer to sand the surfaces as evenly as possible.
Once painting started, we encountered sections of drywall tape that bubbled due to improper installation by the previous contractor. We removed and repaired those areas before applying primer and two coats of finish paint. The result was a polished and fully finished space that blended seamlessly with the rest of the home.
