Over four days, we revitalized a beautiful cedar-sided home in Towson, MD, by expertly restoring and painting all exterior shutters, ensuring both aesthetic appeal and long-term durability. Our team’s careful attention to detail and quality craftsmanship helped bring new life to this classic Maryland residence.

Background/Story

Don and Louise, a repeat client, entrusted us once again with their home, which features traditional cedar siding, wood trim, and shutters. During our initial preparations, we discovered significant rotting in many shutters—an issue that needed addressing beyond our original scope. Recognizing the importance of protecting their home from weathering and maintaining its charm, we expanded our work to include shutter repair and reinforcement, ensuring the house remains beautiful and well-preserved for years to come.

Scope of Services

Our work involved removing all shutters for a thorough cleaning and repainting process. We spot-primed the shutters with Mad Dog Professional Primer, repaired the rotted wood, and applied a full coat of Benjamin Moore Regal Moorglo Soft Gloss, custom-matched to the existing color. To enhance weather protection, we added aluminum caps on top of the shutters. Additional services included shutter removal, repair, re-hanging, and comprehensive exterior painting of the house’s cedar siding and trim.

In just four days, the project resulted in a stunning transformation: the shutters are now beautifully restored, protected from the elements, and seamlessly match the existing color scheme. The home’s exterior looks refreshed, well-maintained, and ready to withstand Maryland’s weather.
